Downtown parking just got a little easier!

Downtown parking meters are finally being updated folks- which is good news for all us fine shoppers/doers of downtown things out there.

"Installation of the new electronic parking meters will begin on the west end of Water Street on Sunday, January 12, 2014 and will move along Water Street from west to east. This may take a day or so depending on weather and accessibility. Once Water Street is completed installation will be begin on Duckworth Street and take a day or so to complete as well. Harbour Drive and all other streets and coves will be completed once Duckworth Street is complete.

The new electronic meters will take all Canadian coins, both old and newly minted, credit cards and park card. The new electronic meters will require a new park card as the old park cards will not work in the new meters. New park cards are available for exchange (if you have an old park it will have the balance remaining transferred to the new park card) or purchase at the Access 311 Service Center at City Hall on New Gower Street."
